Don't Miss the Point - Here is the Real Purpose of Life.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
— 2 Corinthians 5:10

Imagine standing face-to-face with the Author of Life, the Conqueror of Death, the Champion of Time, and the Lord of Justice. Imagine trembling as you stare into his white, hot glory.  Imagine scarcely being able to stand in His presence.

Imagine your whole being begin to tremble as He speaks. Imagine your heart burning within you as you feel His breath on your face.  Imagine the terror and joy you would experience as His radiant presence captured every cell in your body, calling every molecule to attention.  Saturating your senses with the sheer magnitude of His Holy presence.

Imagine hearing the soft, gentle thunder of His voice as He parts His lips to speak. Every second of your eternity hanging in the balance. Imagine seeing his ancient eyes fill with love, with kindness, with joy.

I saw a throne in heaven and someone sitting on it. 3 The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow. Twenty-four thrones surrounded him, and twenty-four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And in front of the throne were seven torches with burning flames. This is the sevenfold Spirit[b] of God. In front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass, sparkling like crystal.
— Revelation 4:2-6

Imagine Him finding you holy because of Christ's Holiness. Imagine Him finding you redeemed because of the richest purchase of Christ's blood. Imagine the relief as you realize that every shame is erased, every transgression has been forgotten, and every single sin is forgiven. You stand there. Because of Christ, you are totally whole, completely clean, and entirely worthy. Imagine Him wanting you.

Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
— Isaiah 40:28

Imagine Him reflecting on your life, pondering whether or not your days were spent in worthless pursuit of a crumbling kingdom or in the wholehearted race to see His Kingdom come.

Imagine looking into the face of the most radiant Being the cosmos will ever know. Imagine all at once how familiar and strange He seems. Imagine realizing how many times you've seen glimpses of His face. In houses of worship, in the faces of the compassionate, in the actions of the earnest, and in the hearts of the pure.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
— Matthew 5:8

Imagine how you will remember seeing traces of Him as you recall stunning vistas of fiery sunsets and awe-inducing mountains. Imagine the glory you will know as you realize the greatest trophies of creation seem so small in light of the Creator.

Imagine your impulses colliding. On one hand, feeling inadequate in His presence and yet something about Him is constantly affirming you that you belong.  Imagine Him finding your days well-spent and worthwhile. Imagine Him beaming with satisfied pride as He nods His head and crowns you with two words:  WELL DONE.

His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.
— Matthew 25:21

A lot of people wonder what life is about.  This moment is what this life is about. For every child of God, this day is more than poetry - it's a pressing certainty. Everyday our choice is simple. We can live in the distractions and trials of the current moment, or we can strive to lift our eyes in order to live for the ages.

His kingdom is coming. It can start with us.
